The Falkland Islands
The Falkland Islands is such an amazing place that I have already visited it twice--solo in 2007 and again with Elaine in 2009. The 2007 photos were taken with a Canon 20D, while the 2009 photos were with a Canon 50D. On both trips I used 70-200mm f/2.8 and 100-400mm f4.5-f/5.6 lenses.

Saunders Island
On both Falklands visits I camped on Saunders Island. The variety of the wildlife, together with its isolated location, make this my (and Elaine's) favourite Falklands location--it really is breathtaking.

Sealion Island
I visited Sealion Island in 2007. Another fabulous location, this small island also had a lot to offer. In particular, as it is rat free, this island is one of the few where numerous small birds are to be found.

The Mainland (East Falkland)
There is also extraordinary wildlife on the mainland (East Falkland). Adding to the interest here is the military history associated with the Falklands War.
