and 8 seconds later - note that the relatively nearby cumulus clouds are still weakly illuminated - this was the first of the two most memorable moments of the eclipse - the speed of the darkening is very very alarming!! Note same as reported on the Sky at Night, I didn't see the shadow racing across the ground - it was the blackening of the sky that was so overwhelming.
